Isn’t it due to the fact that air is a heavier gas than helium? Technically, air is the “normal” unless someone is raised in a helium environment, which I’ve yet to see.
The air is mostly nitrogen.
Also, helium only changes your voice because of the different density.
Well, Sulfur Hexafluoride can make it deeper.
