    The Spanish didn’t wipe out the Mayans…Their civilization was gone before the conquistadors got there.

    There were still remanents there, and the Spanish burned all but 6 of their books. Which is largly why we know little to nothing about the Mayans.

    Maybe if people knew that the Conquistadors hadn’t ever lain eyes on the Mayans, they would know the Mayans didn’t disappear at the fault of the Spanish.
